New recruits for Co-op

The Co-operative Funeralcare Band announce the addition of two new players and the welcome return of one very familiar face in advance of the forthcoming National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.

Alison Bonnar has re-joined the band on 2nd Euphonium after her time away due to work commitments. Alison had been a member of the band for many years and earned a fantastic reputation as a top class player and bandsperson. We are delighted she has returned to add her quality and experience to the section.

Lindsay Roxburgh has joined the band on Repiano Cornet. Lindsay started her playing career in Dalmellington Junior Band, taught by Hugh Johnstone MBE. She eventually worked her way up to Principal Cornet of the senior band, which she led with distinction over the past few years. Alex Ramsay has moved from Repiano to the solo cornet bench.

We are also delighted that Gordon Kyle has joined on Soprano Cornet. For many years Gordon was a member of the Kirkintilloch Band before deciding to make the move to Soprano. He has enjoyed many fine performances with the Kirkintilloch Kelvin Band winning several best soloist and instrumental prizes during his time there.

The band would like to place on record it's thanks to Caroline Tennant who has decided to take a break from banding following the recent British Open Championships. The band have benefitted greatly from Caroline's many years of outstanding service and performance.
